Infrastructure Accountant and Asset Manager

This is a strategic leadership role within the Department of Education responsible for overseeing financial, human, and physical resources. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in infrastructure accounting and asset management with experience in capital settlements and project accruals.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide strategic guidance on financial management for infrastructure projects, develop and implement financial policies and legislations that ensure compliance and best practices.
- Manage timely capital project settlements and asset capitalisation, ensuring alignment with financial policies and regulations.
- Liaise with internal audit teams to identify and mitigate risks, develop robust internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial losses.
- Evolving infrastructure financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure accounting and asset management with a strong understanding of financial standards and regulations.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale capital projects, developing and implementing effective financial management frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of financial policies, legislations, and standards relevant to the industry, including AASB guidelines.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
