Job Title: Workshop Diesel Mechanic

The role of a Workshop Diesel Mechanic involves the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction and mining sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assembling, maintaining and repairing various types of heavy equipment including diesel engines, hydraulic systems and mechanical components.
  • Conducting diagnostic analysis to identify faults and determining the necessary repairs or replacements required to restore the equipment to optimal working condition.
  • Carrying out regular servicing and preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure it is properly maintained and running smoothly.
  • Ensuring that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to resolve any issues that may arise during the course of daily operations.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Mechanical Trade qualification - Commercial Vehicle trades are also considered.
  • Previous experience working with heavy equipment, preferably in the construction and mining industries.
  • Hold valid High Risk Work Licenses (forklift, dogging, working at heights etc)
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide quality work.
