Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the operation and management of all Council-owned aquatic and health facilities. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality, safe, and community-focused aquatic services, manage contracts and service providers, and ensure operational standards are consistently met across the Shire.

You will work closely with seasonal and permanent staff, contractors, and key stakeholders to maintain compliance with safety regulations and drive service improvements. This includes supervising the delivery of safe and sustainable aquatic services, managing facility maintenance, and ensuring risk management and compliance with relevant health, safety, and industry regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma qualification in Business Management, Sports and Recreation, or a relevant discipline with solid experience in aquatic centre operations and aquatic plant operations and maintenance.
  • Proven experience in contract management, including preparing contract documentation, overseeing tender processes, managing contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and resolving issues in line with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills with internal and external customers.
