Instrumentation Field Service Specialist

At ABB Australia, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our customers. As an Instrumentation Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' industrial processes.

This position reports to the Service Manager - Instrumentation, and your role and responsibilities will include:

Executing service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.

Delivering quality customer service planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectation.

Showcasing expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timelines and expectations.

Working with customers to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.

Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which you are certified to perform.

Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.

Acting as a trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Qualifications for the role include:

  • Trade / degree qualified in an Electrical or Instrumentation field with current full Australian Electrical License.
  • Significant experience in Instrumentation.
  • Experience in both maintenance and projects related work in the industrial, mining or power distribution sectors.
  • Experience in Service within the Water & Wastewater industry, specifically with exposure to electromagnetic flowmeters.
  • Good hold on SAP, CCRP and MS Office and AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to provide technical support and training to a wide range of ABB customers and staff.
