Job Overview

Market Surveillance is a global function within Institutional Risk. We work together with the business, leveraging advanced technology to help anticipate and navigate the ever-changing regulatory environment.

You'll conduct independent reviews for potential market manipulation and trading misconduct. You'll lead or collaborate on various regulatory responses and projects and provide leadership of the team.

You'll be responsible for driving next generation surveillance capabilities using emerging advanced technologies including AI. This includes ensuring controls are fit-for-purpose and data is well managed.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead a global surveillance function to enforce market conduct regulations and related policies.
  • Design and deliver the Surveillance strategy to keep pace with regulatory expectations, Markets strategy and evolving technology capabilities.
  • Drive change in Markets culture to create better outcomes for the customer.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders locally and internationally.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A deep understanding of Markets Product knowledge, prior proven experience in trade surveillance, trading or risk management.
  • Experience in leading large diverse multi-location teams.
  • Strategic and influential leadership with current knowledge of advanced emerging technologies and how to leverage these to advance the function.
  • Strong quantitative skillset - data analysis and insights, reporting with knowledge of data science techniques an advantage.
  • Process-driven to ensure controls and governance framework remain robust to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
