The Principal Policy Officer has a lead role in preparing expert advice and support on strategic policy issues, projects and activities as they relate to student discipline matters, including school disciplinary absences.
This role contributes to the strategic direction, activities and priorities of the division and works with a high degree of autonomy and as well as participating in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide high quality advice to senior officers on school disciplinary absence appeals against Regional Director decisions.
- Undertake research, analysis, monitoring, review and evaluation of significant policies and projects for the purpose of ensuring strategic objectives are achieved.
- Contribute to the provision of high-level advice and support to senior officers with respect to the development and statewide implementation of strategic policy initiatives.
- Lead and maintain liaison, communication and coordination with key personnel in schools, districts, regions and systems.
The Principal Policy Officer reports to the Principal Advisor within Schools and Student Support.
