About the Role

This is a key position within the Long Term Planning function at Evolution Mining, responsible for unlocking the value of our portfolio through consolidated strategic planning of our Open Pit assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Life of Mine Plan for CGO and MGO, identifying opportunities for value accretion across the business, and providing guidance on current Evolution and global best practice and innovation in Open Pit Mine Planning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver optimised mine designs and schedules to enable selection of a preferred pathway for the Evolution Mining Life of Mine plan.
  2. Engage with corporate and site stakeholders to collate and integrate sound inputs into the possible scenarios.
  3. Contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities, including critical action development.
  4. Participate in person during LOM-Season workshop at the technical hub.
  5. Assist the Study team in delivery of the Mine Extension Studies.
  6. Collaborate with site teams to align tactical objectives with strategic plans.
About You

To succeed in this position, you will have proven experience in long term mine planning or studies. It is also important that you have or can demonstrate:

  1. Capability in influencing and developing Open Cut Technical Services Management practices and supporting the professional and technical growth of the mining engineering teams.
  2. Effectively communicate complex process ideas at all levels with an ability to build relationships across functions and operations from Operator to Board level.
  3. Proven experience at a comparable level within an organisation in either a Group (or significant Site based operation) where you held accountability, delivering operational efficiency, driving accurate and reliable interpretations/decisions, and implementing best practice in both technical and operational areas.
  4. Software capability to derive and deliver an optimised strategic open pit mine plan and schedule (Deswik, Minemax and Whittle exposure advantageous).
  5. Bachelor or Masters qualification in mining engineering or related discipline.
  6. Significant open pit experience in the Mining Industry - preferable Gold.
