The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our expanding Brisbane-based team. As a suitably qualified and experienced environmental professional, you will be working as part of our environmental team, reporting to the Manager of Environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Scope and manage multiple technical studies, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare, compile, and edit environmental technical studies, deliver Environmental Impact Assessments, and other technical and advisory reports for clients.
  • Closure Planning: Coordinate and prepare mine rehabilitation and closure planning documents.
  • Legislative Compliance: Research and interpret legislative requirements and processes, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth, Queensland, and Northern Territory environmental legislation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within multidisciplinary teams to meet specified project goals, administering contracts and scopes of work with other consultants and contractors.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key project contacts.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 5-6 years of experience in an environmental field, with exposure to the mining industry. A strong understanding of Commonwealth, Queensland, and Northern Territory environmental legislation and approvals processes is essential.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Contemporary Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation and approvals processes.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Computer Literacy: High level of computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Organisational Skills: Efficient time management and organisational skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to cultivate and nurture positive relationships with clients, co-workers, and contractors.
  • Autonomy: Willingness to work autonomously, with a good sense of humour, and effectively within a team.
  • Qualifications: Formal qualifications in environmental management, science, or engineering disciplines are required.

Salary Estimate: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
