Outdoor Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Education Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sustainable practices and conservation, and who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in outdoor education, with experience in leading groups and developing programs that promote environmental sustainability and community engagement. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.

The role involves guiding and mentoring students on the Zero Journey, a unique and enriching pathway that offers experiential learning experiences centered around real-world learning and wellbeing. The specialist will work closely with the Zero Leadership team to develop and deliver programs that meet the needs of students and support their academic and personal growth.

The ideal candidate will have a recognized qualification in outdoor education or a related field, as well as a valid manual driver's license. They will also have a passion for sustainable practices and conservation, and a commitment to promoting child safety and student empowerment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor students on the Zero Journey, providing guidance and support to ensure their safe and efficient participation in the program.
  • Develop and deliver programs that promote environmental sustainability and community engagement, working closely with the Zero Leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, supporting the development of strong interpersonal relationships among students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with the Zero Teacher and Zero Mentor to ensure clear communication and effective coordination of the program.
Requirements
  • Recognized qualification in outdoor education or a related field.
  • Valid manual driver's license.
  • Passion for sustainable practices and conservation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs.
