About the Role

The NSW Government is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Volunteer Chaplain. As a Chaplain, you will provide confidential pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and psychological first aid to NSW Ambulance staff, their families, patients, and bystanders in the event of traumatic or stressful incidents.

You will work closely with the Senior Chaplain to provide support and guidance to individuals from diverse faith backgrounds and worldviews. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the community by offering non-judgmental support and spiritual care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential pastoral care and spiritual guidance to individuals in need
  • Offer psychological first aid and support to individuals experiencing traumatic or stressful incidents
  • Work closely with the Senior Chaplain to develop and implement spiritual care programs
  • Provide representation at baptisms, weddings, funerals, and other ceremonies or religious services as required
  • Collaborate with other faith-based organizations to provide support and resources to individuals in need
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Chaplaincy or Pastoral care
  • Ability to provide a minimum of 4 hours volunteer work per week or 8 hours per fortnight
  • Current NSW Driver License and current first aid certificate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
