Insurance Risk Leader

About the Role:

APRA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Risk Leader to lead our insurance risk team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate insurance risk, as well as providing advice on insurance risk related matters.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and understanding of insurance risk, with experience in leading teams and managing resources. They will also possess strong leadership skills, including relationship building, negotiation and influencing at senior levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of insurance risk specialists to deliver APRA's insurance risk needs
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate insurance risk
  • Provide specialist technical advice on insurance risk related matters
  • Oversee the development of insurance risk system-wide and relevant entity insights
  • Contribute to branch and divisional leadership activities
About You:
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of insurance risk
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing resources
  • Strong leadership skills, including relationship building and negotiation
  • Ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships with peers, team members and external stakeholders
