Job Title

A Risk Management Specialist oversees insurance risk across the Australian financial system, ensuring Australia's financial wellbeing is protected.

The specialist leads a team of insurance risk experts and provides technical advice on insurance risk management. They set strategic direction for the team and collaborate with other Cross-Industry Risk Division specialists to provide a cohesive prudential risk view across all risk classes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and assessing the insurance risk environment across the Australian financial system;
  • Providing specialist technical advice on insurance risk management;
  • Collaborating with other Cross-Industry Risk Division specialists to provide a cohesive prudential risk view;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to mitigate insurance risk;
  • Overseeing the development of insurance risk system-wide insights and relevant entity perspectives;
  • Providing specialist input into APRA's prudential policy and data collections related to insurance risk;
