Job Title: Property Insurance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Property Insurance Specialist to join our team in VIC. As a key member of our Property department, you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal Property accounts in line with our company's guidelines.

About the Role:
  • Developing business from an allocated panel of Corporate brokers within your delegated authority;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with a panel of brokers and pursuing target accounts;
  • Establishing and executing business plans to maximize opportunities with those brokers;

The ideal candidate will have +3 years of experience in a Property or Package Underwriting and Development role with an insurance company. You will be able to develop creative solutions to unique underwriting situations and understand advanced pricing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working within the Melbourne Property department on an assigned Corporate broker panel;
  • Writing a MD/BI portfolio in accordance with our company's underwriting strategy;
  • Selecting new risks and underwriting renewals for assigned book of business and/or for designated specialty classes or market segments;
  • Organising and presenting significant, complex accounts to Branch, Zone or Home Office for approval as applicable;
Requirements:
  • +3 years experience in a Property or Package Underwriting and Development role with an insurance company;
  • Understanding of advanced pricing techniques (retro rating, composition of experience mod, etc.) when to use, how to use, how to sell, etc;
  • Familiarity with developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts;
  • Understanding of account servicing costs;
  • Ability to build and maintain long term relationships with key producers and insureds;
