About Our Team

We are seeking a seasoned policy professional to lead our advocacy efforts and drive strategic communications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual with a passion for health policy and advocacy to join our team and contribute to the development of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in policy research, analysis and implementation, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective policy strategies to support the provision of high-quality comprehensive primary health care services.
  • Provide expert advice on health policy matters to the CEO and Board, ensuring alignment with our mission and objectives.
  • Manage the secretariat support for the Board Research Subcommittee and the NT Aboriginal Health Forum, coordinating meetings and correspondence as required.
  • Lead the development of external communications, including media releases, speeches and social media content, to promote our organization's work and achieve our advocacy goals.
  • Supervise a team responsible for conducting research and producing high-quality reports, submissions and other policy documents.
Requirements
  • Masters degree or higher in a relevant field, such as health policy, public health or social science, with significant experience in health policy planning, research and/or governance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in comprehensive primary health care, including the social and cultural determinants of health.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government agencies, health organizations and other stakeholders to advance our advocacy agenda.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions to complex policy issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
