Job Description

In this exciting role as an Energy Systems Operator, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our power generation facilities. Reporting to the Power Generation Supervisor, you will be responsible for controlling, monitoring, maintaining, and operating the associated equipment/plant to ensure uninterrupted generation and distribution of power.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring individual operating equipment for proper operations.
  • Safely starting and stopping equipment and bringing it online/offline.
  • Configuring and managing the power system to meet dynamic load demands considering design and operational requirements.
  • Performing routine log checks and inspections on equipment.
  • Performing level 1 and level 2 maintenance on diesel engines and associated equipment.
  • Interpreting schematic drawings to coordinate fluid configuration changes and fault finding.
  • High voltage switching and equipment isolation.
  • Providing knowledge and training support to new shift operators.
Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrical Trade with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.
  • A broad knowledge of operational systems and practices gained through extensive experience and/or education.
  • Power Plant experience (or similar industrial work environment).
  • High school, secondary school, or equivalent education.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
