About the Role
The SA Health organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced GP Consultant to contribute to the provision of safe and best practice medical primary healthcare services to patients of South Australia Prison Health Service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct clinical services, developing appropriate medical programs, and actively contributing to teaching junior medical staff, students, and nurse practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision of direct clinical services to patients
- Development of medical programs to improve patient outcomes
- Teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, students, and nurse practitioners
- Participation in clinical outcome measurement and reporting
- Participation in risk management and governance activities
- Contribution to the overall efficiency and effective operation of the health unit
- Collaboration with Central Adelaide Local Health Network acute and integrated care sites regarding hospital avoidance strategies
- Participation in state-wide working groups and committees relevant to portfolio

Essential Requirements:
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working With Children Check (DHS)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description
Desirable Qualifications:
- Fellow of the RACGP or ACRRM
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
- General Registration for Senior Medical Practitioner
