At Carma, we're seeking a skilled Automotive Buyer to join our team. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration as you manage the end-to-end purchasing of vehicles across various channels.

About the Job
  • Purchasing Vehicles: Oversee the acquisition of pre-owned cars through auctions, private sales, and wholesalers.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with vehicle suppliers to enhance our purchasing capabilities and expand our network.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all purchasing-related systems are up-to-date, accurate, and efficiently managed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to drive growth and support the buying team in other regions.

You'll spend around 80% of your time on the road, primarily in the Sydney metropolitan area, with occasional trips to surrounding regions. As a valid driver, you'll be comfortable navigating various locations and working outside regular business hours when needed.

Requirements
  • Ambitious Automotive Expertise: Proven experience in automotive buying, preferably with exposure to multiple avenues, including dealerships, auctions, and private sales.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Possess strong negotiation and communication skills, ensuring seamless interactions with customers and suppliers.
  • Vehicle Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of various vehicle brands, models, and makes, prioritizing quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Autonomy and Initiative: Thrive in an autonomous environment, taking initiative to drive results and meet targets.
