About the Role

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor at V/Line is a pivotal position within the Network Development Asset Maintenance Group, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at maintaining the technical integrity of plant equipment and machinery, ensuring all equipment remains in a safe and reliable condition, meeting the operational requirements of V/Line's maintenance teams.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist the Plant Manager in implementing overhaul and repair activities and continuous improvement of plant and maintenance standards, including modifications to plant to improve function and reliability.
  • Lead by example, employees, contract staff, and maintenance contractors in undertaking preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Operate and manage the Plant Maintenance Workshop, including procedures to meet relevant safety, environmental, and technical standards.
  • Provide maintenance advice to the wider organisation in relation to plant and vehicles utilised by the maintenance staff.
  • Be proactive with a continuous improvement mindset to achieve project outcomes in terms of function, timeframes, and cost.
  • Communicate with Original Equipment Manufacturers to ensure equipment meets V/Line and rail industry standards.
About You
  • You will join a collaborative working environment that demonstrates high energy and an inclusive work group. You will bring technical skills in Heavy Diesel and/or Mechanical/Maintenance Fitting, along with people leadership skills.
  • Good organisation and time management skills, as well as the ability to problem solve and prioritise based on the reactive nature of the role.
  • Ability to utilise Microsoft business programmes.
