Job Title: Medical Front Desk Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our medical team as a front desk professional. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcome and supported throughout their visit.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, manage appointment bookings, and handle patient enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process patient registrations, update records, and maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to strict data protection protocols.
  • Manage billings, Medicare claims, and EFTPOS transactions with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring seamless payment processing and minimal errors.
  • Assist doctors and nurses with administrative tasks as required, providing additional support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy, organized, and welcoming, creating a positive first impression for patients and visitors.
  • Follow clinic policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Professional presentation and a friendly, caring attitude, with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare environment, with knowledge of best practices and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with medical software, including Best Practice or similar systems, to efficiently manage patient records and billing processes.
