About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Advisor to join our team at The State of Queensland. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in the delivery of the Active Transport Investment Program (ATIP) by providing effective and efficient program management of local government grant programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Develop, manage, monitor, and review local government grant programs, including the analysis of project data to manage prioritization, financial, and risk management aspects of the programs.
  • Financial Management: Analyze program funding, project budgets, and delivery schedules in line with approved targets and provide advice to senior management on variances, trends, and financial positions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively manage program and project data through computerized systems, including 3PCM and SAP, and develop, foster, manage, and maintain strong and effective relationships with program partners and other key stakeholders involved with the ATIP.
  • Communication: Prepare correspondence and briefings on behalf of and for the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, Executive Director, and Director as required.
  • Process Improvement: Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of systems, processes, and interfaces with program stakeholders to achieve the program objectives.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in a team environment, ensuring effective communication and providing appropriate feedback and support to other team members.
Requirements
  • Program Management Experience: Knowledge and experience in using program and project management reporting systems.
  • Program Management Principles: Ability to apply program management principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve project and program outcomes.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to identify, examine, and critically interpret complex information, and think laterally to generate options and identify long-term consequences to justify appropriate solutions to issues.
  • Accountability: Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency, and maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with key stakeholders and relevant parties towards maintaining mutually beneficial relations, and uses networks to create future opportunities for partnerships.
