About the Role
Yooralla is seeking a passionate and experienced Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our team as a permanent, full-time or part-time employee. This fulfilling role will provide best practice, evidence-based speech pathology services across the scope of practice to children with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide support, resources, and information as part of the key worker model to meet the family's individual needs in a range of settings such as home, childcare, kindergarten, or school.
- Use a family-centered approach and draw on the skills of the larger team to develop goals and strategies with the family to support their identified priorities.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Psychologists.
- Provide indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
- Work with clients and families with complex needs.
- Manage your own caseload and appointments.
- Drive to homes and community settings within a 30-minute radius.
- Work in a flexible environment, including home, office, or community settings.
About You
You'll be an established and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist with a tertiary qualification, a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), and good interpersonal skills. You'll have the ability to engage with families using a family-centered, key worker approach and work collaboratively with a team to support clients and families.
Requirements
- Experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model.
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- The opportunity to build on your clinical practice, including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you're not familiar with.
- Care for the work you do and for the people you work with.
- Competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems.
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Australian driver's license and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across western suburbs as required.
