Job Title: Senior Workplace Relations Expert

Forensic mental health careers are diverse, challenging and rewarding. You will be part of a caring and supportive team, making a real difference to people living with the dual stigma of mental illness and offending.

Our workplace relations expert will provide sound and timely advice to managers, coach and partner P&C Business Partners with their directorate portfolios, and manage a full range of workplace relations issues.

About the Role:
  • The Senior Workplace Relations Partner will drive policy development in key P&C functions, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures, promoting a positive culture.
  • The role also involves participating in and leading organisational change projects or other P&C initiatives.
Duties:Industrial Relations
  • Provide industrial relations advice to ensure legislative compliance, ensuring that we remain up-to-date with all relevant laws and regulations.
Workplace Relations
  • Ensure a person-centred approach to case management, balancing process with wellbeing, by coaching and supporting managers on performance and conduct issues, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist managers with investigations into unfair treatment, discrimination, bullying, and harassment, providing advice to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Policies and Procedures & Organisational Development
  • Develop and review P&C policies, procedures, and guidelines to support employment terms and conditions, creating resources like toolkits/support materials to enhance management capability.
About You:
  • Experience in the health industry is highly regarded, as it demonstrates an understanding of our sector's unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Proven experience in a workplace relations role is essential, as it shows that you have the skills and knowledge required to excel in this position.
  • Expertise in legislative interpretation and applying regulations is crucial, as it ensures that we remain compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as they enable you to effectively communicate with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Skills in research, analysis, and policy development are also required, as they enable you to develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and teamwork is vital, as it creates a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Experience advising senior managers on workplace solutions is highly valued, as it demonstrates your ability to provide strategic guidance and support.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, or employment law is required, as it provides a solid foundation for this role.
