Disability Support Worker – Gosford, Ettalong, Hamlyn Terrace, Noraville

About the Job

We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful applicant will provide support to individuals with complex trauma, high challenging behaviors, and/or high physical/clinical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Providing personal care, community access, and daily routines for clients
  • Working in participants' homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)
  • Managing complex needs including behaviours of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needs
  • Administering medication and following detailed health support plans
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation techniques
  • Providing meaningful, person-centred care to NDIS participants

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting people with mental illness, high physical needs, and behaviours of concern. They will also have a strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behaviour support.

Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
  • Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear case note writing
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver's Licence, and insured vehicle
