Offshore Health and Safety Specialist

The role of the Offshore Health and Safety Specialist involves playing a vital part in maintaining the health and wellbeing of our personnel while ensuring operational effectiveness through effective HSE guidance and on-site medical care.

This position demands a balance between proactive leadership and swift response to emerging HSE and medical challenges.

  • Collaborate with the offshore marine and project management teams to implement HSE systems.
  • Provide expert HSE advice and oversight to support offshore construction/subsea intervention activities.
  • Deliver workforce coaching and training in company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and conduct HSE training on board the vessel.
  • Record incidents and statistical HSE data.
  • Conduct incident investigations according to company procedures.
  • Manage the ships hospital, including equipment maintenance in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to and manage medical emergencies.
  • Oversee drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and injury reports.

  • Support offshore construction/subsea intervention activities.
  • Deliver workforce coaching and training in company HSE policies and procedures.

  • Respond to and manage medical emergencies.

Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or Paramedic with valid registration.
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Health and Safety.
  • Desirable qualifications include emergency response training in ALS, Burns, Trauma, MIMMS and Specimen Collection HLTPAT005.
  • BOSIET Training.
  • Valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of HSE experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Five years of experience in a clinical setting.
