About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Applications Scientist to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a key member of our research group, you will play a critical role in advancing the development of quantum computing technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate quantum advantage with near-term quantum systems
  • Explore the implementation of analogue quantum systems on near-term arrays of phosphorus-doped silicon quantum dots
  • Develop and adapt quantum algorithms for industry-focused applications
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to realise quantum processors in silicon
  • Generate high-quality research publication output
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated research capabilities in classical machine learning, quantum machine learning, condensed matter physics, or related fields
  • Experience with Python quantum computing packages such as OpenQASM (Qiskit), Cirq, ProjectQ, or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines
