About the Role

The Decipher Bureau is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Infrastructure Specialist to join their team in Brisbane. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring three days in the office and two at home.

As a Cyber Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and monitoring network infrastructure across Queensland, ensuring seamless integration with operational technology systems.

  • You will lead ongoing maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other devices.
  • Participate in high-level network architecture design planning workshops for network upgrade projects, providing expert advice on Sunwater's network architecture.
  • Partner with business units to ensure network infrastructure aligns with operational technology systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for network support agreements with managed service providers.
  • Review, create, and maintain architectural documentation of Sunwater's network assets.
  • Frequent travel to remote Sunwater assets across Queensland for installation and maintenance of network hardware.
  • Manage relevant tickets in the ITSM platform, troubleshoot network issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware, provide training and technical support for users, and lifecycle management of network devices.

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to create accurate network architecture diagrams and documentation.
  • Learning new or unfamiliar technology using documentation and internet resources.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Palo Alto Next Gen Firewall Configuration and Management.
  • Network monitoring and management tools and incident management processes (ITIL).
  • Understanding of contemporary security standards and frameworks in a network context.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience and training.
  • At least five years' experience in network administration, with proven experience with Palo Alto NGFW and Cisco Meraki.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices in complex WAN environments.
  • Cloud computing connectivity experience (Azure and Express Route).
  • Cisco Meraki Configuration and Management Experience.
  • Relevant industry certification (e.g., PCNSE, PCNSA, PCSFE, CMSS, CCNA, CCNP, Network+).

Salary & Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
