Job Summary:
The position coordinates a specialist team which provides focused risk management support and ensures the effective and proactive delivery of workplace health and safety services throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a robust enterprise risk management framework covering strategic and operational risks with a significant focus on workplace health and safety risks.
- Coordinate the development, review, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety management systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate business planning across the workplace health and safety team, including the development and implementation of the workplace health and safety strategic action plan and business plans, consistent with the risk framework and organizational direction.
- Review, develop, update, and execute workplace health and safety operational protocols, goals, and business plans to ensure continued compliance with regulations and licensing requirements.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated workplace health and safety and risk senior specialist experience in a diverse operational service delivery-focused organization.
- Significant experience leading and delivering safety leadership advice and expert support to resolve problems or investigate and respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents, where several complex alternatives need to be addressed.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships and stakeholder management through advanced communication skills and an approachable style with a passion for risk management, safety improvement, and customer service.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including a proven track record of systems/process improvement and delivery.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge and understanding of local government.
- Additional relevant qualifications in workplace training and evaluation, incident investigation, and return to work coordination.
