Position Overview
As a key member of our operations team, the Relief MPU Operator will report directly to the Area Operations Supervisor. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of an Open Cut Mobile Mixing Unit (MPU), ensuring the delivery of high-quality emulsion-based explosives for blasting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the MPU machinery safely and efficiently to manufacture explosives.
- Deliver emulsion-based explosives in accordance with the site’s service agreements.
- Perform basic maintenance on all equipment utilized on-site.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a strong operational background as a qualified MPU Operator or relevant experience in equipment operation on an active blast bench. Essential qualifications include:
- A commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performance work culture.
- A valid Qld HR Driver's License (Open or B Condition).
- Standard 11/Qld Security Clearance Card/Forklift (HRWL) Licence (desirable).
- RII Qualification in Mobile Mixing Explosives.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude to work across multiple sites.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn site-specific software.
