Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities as a Support Worker.

The Support Worker will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks, and personal hygiene. They will also support participants in managing routines and ensuring a safe and clean living environment.

In addition, the Support Worker will encourage and promote life skills development, such as budgeting, cooking, or organization, to enable participants to live independently.

Furthermore, the role involves accompanying participants to social, recreational, and community activities, promoting social inclusion and independence, and supporting them in accessing transportation and navigating the community safely.

The Support Worker will also foster a positive and respectful relationship with each participant, prioritizing their needs and preferences.

They must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of intellectual disabilities and person-centered approaches.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.
  • Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
