Job Description:

This is a part-time position for a Multi Hotel Payroll Specialist at Stamford Hotels and Resorts in Adelaide. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll processes, national and state-level legislation, roster and timesheet management, awards, and enterprise agreements.

About the Role:

The core function of this role is to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees' wages. This involves tracking employee working hours, calculating allowances and penalties, and reconciling payroll data with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Heads of Departments to optimize payroll efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide timely payroll services to all staff members, including processing payroll reports, reconciliations, and necessary management reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee records, incorporating overtime, bonuses, and mid-year annual remuneration implementation
  • Review and update payroll processes to ensure compliance with national and state-based legislation and regulations
  • Troubleshoot system issues and propose enhancements with internal stakeholders, collaborating with HR Information System vendors as needed
  • Data entry payroll preparation, including new hires, exits, position changes, and employee roster adjustments
  • Respond to employee queries regarding compensation, taxes, benefits, and deductions
  • Prepare payroll reports analyzing salaries and taxes paid requirements by the ATO and for internal bookkeeping functions in case of pay disputes
  • Ensure tax compliance by submitting taxes to the ATO monthly under the STP system, accompanied by the Hotel Accountant
  • Process maternity and paternity leave adjustments
Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship
  • Tertiary education background in accounting or business
  • Comprehensive experience in performing payroll processes on HR Information System for over 5 years
  • Deep knowledge of national and state-level legislation, roster and timesheet management, awards, and enterprise agreements
