Operations Coordinator

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an Operations Coordinator to join our team at a leading coal producer.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Coordinator to coordinate real-time load and haul activities to maximise fleet utilisation and keep production on target. This role is critical in ensuring mining operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with continuous monitoring of fleet performance against operational priorities and the site's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Coordination: Operate and monitor real-time systems (FMS Hexagon MineOPs, SCADA, load & haul) to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Production Oversight: Oversee production activities across excavators, trucks, and dozers to maintain high levels of productivity.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Monitor equipment health and respond swiftly to alerts or faults to prevent downtime and ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Incident Response: Support incident response and follow emergency protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Tech Services, and CHPP teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Communication: Manage shift handovers, set priorities, and maintain clear communication to ensure seamless operation.
  • Reporting: Record and report production data, equipment usage, and downtime to inform business decisions.

About You:

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual who possesses excellent communication skills, strong situational awareness, and attention to detail. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum 2 years' experience in open cut mining operations and safety procedures.
  • Generic Coal (Surface) Induction (S11).
  • Experience with emergency response protocols and incident management.
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking skills with excellent communication.
  • Familiarity with mine control systems (MineOPs, Modular, MineStar, Wenco).
  • Intermediate computer skills and a genuine interest in technology and innovation.
