Senior Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the deployment of electrical control systems, including design, documentation, testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and installation, with a minimum of 7 years experience. They will also possess sound knowledge of requirements such as AS3000 & AS4024.1, as well as experience in machine control, safety and functional safety principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, document, test and commission materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.
  • Travel across multiple customer locations to fulfill work requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

Requirements:

  • A degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific discipline.
  • 7+ years experience in electrical design and installation.
  • Solid understanding of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices.
  • Ability to manage installation crews.
  • Willingness to travel during the installation and commissioning phase of a project within Australia and occasionally overseas.
