Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Property Underwriting Team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role and contribute to the growth and profitability of our business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting: Manage your portfolio of new business and renewals, operating within established guidelines, authority levels, and service standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all underwriting standards, procedures, and processes through consistent monitoring and review.
  • Customer Service: Provide timely, professional service and effective solutions to customers and intermediaries.
  • Professional Development: Continuously develop your knowledge of legislation, best practices, underwriting, systems, products, and organisational guidelines.

About You:

  • Background: Proven experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background in underwriting.
  • Portfolio Management: Working knowledge of underwriting in a property portfolio.
  • Relationship Building: Strong customer/broker relationship skills and focus.
  • Market Knowledge: Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate and have difficult conversations with brokers and stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
