Job Overview

This position will support the Trade & Investment Sector Lead (Infrastructure) in driving business growth for UK headquartered companies within the infrastructure sector, targeting the Australian market.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate across our networks on a range of trade and investment campaigns, soft power initiatives, trade missions, and VIP visits. You will work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds whose professional experience is the foundation of our shared capability.

The role is part of a flexible UK team covering a wide range of trade and investment sectors across Australia, and is similar in content and seniority to others in the UK government operation in Australia. Applicants for this position will be considered for other vacancies in the Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Feed into and support the Infrastructure business plan to drive revenue growth and identify new opportunities.
  • Engagement Strategies: Develop and deliver effective engagement strategies to build relationships with key stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
  • Trade Missions: Organise and support trade missions to facilitate business connections and drive export growth.
  • Key Account Management: Undertake key account management and provide the appropriate levels of support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Market Analysis: Carry out market analysis to identify opportunities, events, stakeholders, and sector information that offer value to UK headquartered companies.
  • Briefing Documents: Write briefing documents for High Commissioners and His Majesty's Trade Commissioners to inform decision-making.
  • B2B Matching: Facilitate B2B matching to connect businesses and drive trade.
  • Governmental Delegations: Organise and support governmental delegations to promote trade and investment.
  • External Events: Attend and sometimes present at external events to promote UK trade and investment interests.
  • Industry Forums: Build relationships at industry forums to stay informed and connected.
  • Data Handling: Handle commercial-in-confidence data in an appropriate way to maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively orally and in writing to achieve business objectives.
