About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established Australian owned local business situated in the retail industry. Having been in operation for over 40 years, they are well known for providing premium quality products and services. Our client specializes in providing a broad range of work wear, corporate uniforms, safety products, and equipment to various industries.
The Position
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Foster exceptional supplier partnerships through ongoing business enhancements and strategic negotiations.
- Collaborate with senior management to create demand plans and set replenishment parameters for procurement products, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Investigate and address defects, deficiencies, warranties, and non-conformances as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage stock levels by analysing sales patterns and devising innovative solutions to optimize inventory turnover and reduce costs.
- Execute procurement functions, including developing and implementing product management and procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, and negotiating agreements with suppliers.
- Manage diverse stock lines across multiple locations, including minimum/maximum processes, to ensure efficient and effective inventory management.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Graduate level qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Procurement preferred, but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience working in a Purchasing or Procurement position with large line amounts and a proven track record of success.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation skills, to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently with initiative, making informed decisions to drive business growth and improvement.
- Strong analytical and financial background, confident with managing large budgets and financial reports.
- Strong computer skills, ability to learn and use different software packages, with a strong understanding and working ability with Excel.
