Procurement Specialist

Our client, a well-established Australian-owned local business in Morwell, is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team. With over 40 years of experience, they are a reputable provider of premium quality brands, work wear, corporate uniforms, safety products, and equipment.

The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing procurement services, including purchasing and expediting, stock management and optimization, developing and maintaining stock min/max processes across multiple stores, and evaluating vendor performance. Key responsibilities will include:

• Fostering exceptional supplier partnerships through ongoing business enhancements
• Collaborating with managers to create demand plans and set replenishment parameters for procurement products
• Investigating and addressing defects, deficiencies, warranties, and non-conformances as needed
• Managing stock levels by analyzing sales patterns and devising innovative solutions
• Executing procurement functions, including developing and implementing product management and procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, and negotiating agreements
• Managing diverse stock lines across multiple locations, including minimum/maximum processes

About You

• A graduate-level qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Procurement is preferred but not essential
• Demonstrated experience working in a purchasing or procurement position with a large volume of products
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to problem-solve and work independently with initiative
• Strong analytical and financial background, confident with managing large budgets
• Strong computer skills, ability to learn and use different software packages, and a strong understanding and working ability with Excel
