Emergency Nursing Role

The Animal Referral Hospital is a respected emergency and specialist veterinary facility in Sydney.

We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care to referring Veterinarians and the public.

Our focus is on delivering exceptional patient care with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Our Critical Care Unit has state-of-the-art equipment for dedicated care to critically ill patients, staffed by experienced Veterinary Nurses and Technicians 365 days a year.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care to critically ill and injured patients from triage to discharge.
  • Collaborate closely with our skilled veterinary team to deliver timely and effective treatment and patient care.
  • Monitor patients, administer medications, and assist with medical and surgical procedures as needed.
  • Perform IV catheter placement, blood collection, and diagnostic imaging tasks.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing advice and support during stressful times.
Requirements
  • Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent with at least 2 years of nursing experience.
  • A commitment to advancing skills through regular continuing education and in-house mentorship.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced conditions and provide high-quality patient care.
  • Friendly, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and public holidays.
