Job Summary

Monadelphous is seeking a highly skilled Senior Management Accountant to join our Engineering Construction division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing financial management and systems support. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us achieve our business objectives and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze overhead costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to achieve savings.
  • Manage the month-end process, including compiling and reviewing the division's monthly financials, with a focus on scrutinizing variances and identifying trends or irregularities.
  • Compile and present monthly reports and presentations to the Executive Management team, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Review and analyze monthly Divisional balanced scorecards (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Investigate anomalies and communicate with management to resolve issues.
  • Review individual project performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the annual budget process for the division, ensuring accurate forecasting and planning.
  • Engage and build strong relationships with other divisions to drive collaboration and integration.
  • Provide support to Business Services managers on financial processes to maximize operational performance.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting processes and internal billing of assets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to improve and standardize processes and associated systems.
  • Identify and address complexities in the payable process, including tax, foreign exchange, customs, and border crossing.
  • Investigate and address data integrity issues as they arise.
  • Respond to requests for reports associated with the payable process.
  • Meet compliance regulations and external and internal audit requirements.
  • Perform scenario and options analysis to assess the impact of changes in assumptions and variables.
  • Identify relevant data sources and use technology and system knowledge to enhance the quality of analytics and performance measurement.
  • Generate effective reporting and dashboards to support decision-making.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting, with extensive experience in systems accounting and strong commercial acumen.
  • Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant, or working towards these qualifications.
  • Relevant industry experience in the Resources, Engineering, and Construction Industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven experience of building relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Commitment to quality, with a focus on attention to detail and pride in work.
  • Ability to leverage analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose business problems and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Experience using the Microsoft package, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to work on a variety of projects and tasks, including irregular hours.
  • Previous experience with JDE accounting software is desirable but not essential.
