Job Title:

Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer – Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Employment Type and Remuneration:
  • Permanent Full Time or Part Time 0.5 FTE
  • Staff Specialist Level 1 (IB2023_037) or Sessional Visiting Medical Officer (IB2024_001)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological services, including antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and general gynaecology care.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff, midwives, and nursing teams.
  • Participate in teaching, training, audit, and clinical governance activities.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
Roster Coverage & On-Call:
  • Participate in a departmental roster providing both weekday and weekend cover.
  • On-call commitment shared equitably among consultants.
  • Availability for emergency presentations, theatre lists, and delivery suite calls during rostered on-call periods.
