The Opportunity
We are seeking applications for Entry Level Drafters/Designers to join our Northern Australia business. This is a rare opportunity to kick-start your drafting/design career with a diverse organisation that is dedicated to the development of its people and their careers.
What We're Looking For
- Trainees - Recently completed or nearing completion Year 12 students seeking a career as a drafter/designer.
- Cadets – Currently studying an Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma in Engineering.
- Graduates – Recently completed or nearing completion of Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma in Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of drawings using AutoCAD and other design/drafting software in the field of engineering, projects range from; architecture & interiors, civil infrastructure, transport and water.
- Collaborating with senior team members on various technical tasks and taking guidance in support of your role.
- Developing your knowledge of GHD's Corporate Drafting Manual and other relevant systems, tools and processes.
- Attending TAFE or University and maintaining requirements of a Traineeship or Cadetship, which will include a combination of work-based training and formal training.
What You'll Bring
- QCE (or equivalent) completion with strong academic results in Mathematics and English.
- Experience in AutoCAD desirable but not essential.
- Strong desire to build a rewarding career as a professional drafter/designer.
- Well-developed communication skills and a proven attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer skills coupled with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
- Genuine interest in technical drawing and engineering.
