About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Principal to join our team in the School of Alternative Learning Settings (SALS). As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in implementing our strategic plan and driving educational excellence in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of educators to deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement
  • Collaborate with the Principal and management team to drive school improvement and strategic planning
  • Provide educational leadership and guidance to staff to ensure a highly effective and culturally responsive teaching and learning program
  • Work closely with our School Psychology team to achieve case management goals and lead SEL pedagogy
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, policy development, and management of referrals, data, and accountability systems
  • Leverage professional expertise to extend services within the school community and ensure administrative and operational systems align with departmental policies
  • Lead professional learning communities and provide opportunities for staff development and growth
Requirements
  • Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia
  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • Valid National Criminal History Check
  • Ability to travel across the state frequently, including flights and overnight stays
  • Current and valid 'C' class driver's licence
