Agronomist Role Overview

A leading independent agribusiness is seeking a skilled Agronomist to play a pivotal role in providing expert advice and solutions to horticulture customers. This exciting opportunity involves developing and executing business plans, managing key customer relationships, and identifying growth opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advanced agronomic advice and solutions to horticulture customers
  2. Develop and execute agronomy fertiliser business and key customer management plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
  3. Identification of new client/existing client growth opportunities
  4. Actively participate in a collaborative team to meet and exceed shared objectives
  5. Develop and maintain an industry and internal network as well as keeping abreast of current trends

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be motivated, results-driven, and willing to learn. A minimum of 5 years' experience as an agronomist with a Bachelor of Ag Science or equivalent is required. Ideally, you will have a keen interest in agricultural production and technology, with expertise in plant and soil nutrition for perennial and annual horticulture crops.

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel & PowerPoint + AgWorld (or similar platform)
