The Project

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.

Project Overview

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments, including:

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
  • RAAF Base Wagga

Project Scope

The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements, including:

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
  • Construction of new training facilities
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our team in delivering this complex project. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on leadership, with the ability to manage a large team of engineers and supervisors to achieve required outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the project is delivered on time, cost, safety and to quality
  • Leading a large team of engineers and supervisors to achieve required outcomes
  • Managing a large sub-contractor environment
  • Working to deadlines and managing conflicting priorities in a high-volume work environment
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • A strong commercial focus with demonstrated business acumen
  • Relationship management, conflict management and resolution and problem solving expertise
  • A commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of high performance that consistently delivers results and behaviour that exceed expectations

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in a similar role on a large complex building or infrastructure project
  • Outstanding interpersonal, liaison, networking, team and individual leadership skills
  • Experience in managing a large sub-contractor environment
  • An ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in a high-volume work environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualification

Relocation Package

This role is locally based, and for those outside of Albury/Wodonga/Wagga areas, relocation is required. An attractive relocation package that includes removalist cost and a LAFHA (for eligible individuals) will be made available to the successful applicant.
