Anton Murray Consulting is seeking an experienced Strategic Risk and Compliance Lead to join their Asset Management team in Sydney or Melbourne. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in defining and embedding the 2nd Line of Defence, in accordance with the Risk Management Framework.

About the Role

This 12-month contract opportunity offers a unique chance to contribute to the development of a contemporary risk management framework, partnering with senior leaders and Executive stakeholders to influence risk activities across the organisation. You will be responsible for driving awareness and effective management of operational risks, compliance requirements, and controls, including involvement in business and regulatory initiatives, change management, and projects.

The successful candidate will have a close working relationship with management and staff, as well as with audit functions, and will be responsible for building, maintaining, and providing oversight and advice on governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Strong Stakeholder Relationships: Collaborate with all stakeholders to drive change and deliver value, advocating for a positive risk culture.
  • Educate and Advise: Educate and advise stakeholders regarding the development of strong risk and compliance capabilities within the business.
  • Mentor and Guide: Mentor, guide, and support the development of strong risk and compliance capabilities within the team and across the business.
  • Represent the Group: Represent the group at industry events and with regulators.
  • Oversight and Advice: Provide oversight and advice on governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, ensuring timely identification of issues and escalation to the Head of and the Board.

The ideal candidate will have a legal background, over 5 years' experience in financial services risk and compliance roles, and experience within Custody, Managed Investments, and/or Asset Management or corporate trustee businesses. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of Trustee ACL and AFSL regulatory obligations.

What We Offer

This exciting opportunity offers a salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits.
