About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Risk Manager to join our team at Westpac Group. As a key member of our audit and risk team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating data risks across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business units and audit teams to plan, execute, and report on data analytics and audit reviews.
  • Test the design and operating effectiveness of controls, identify and document audit issues, and agree management action plans.
  • Develop and implement data governance, management, and risk management practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coach and develop others in data risk management and data assurance capabilities.
  • Assist in the reporting stages of the audit engagement, including preparing and discussing audit reports with management.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of data analytics experience, preferably in audit, risk, assurance, or consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, management, and risk management practices, including CPG 235, BCBS 239, and GDPR.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, project management, and collaboration/relationship building skills.
  • Proven team leadership, coaching, and staff development skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and identify root causes of issues.
