About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Water team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of mechanical engineering services at the concept design phase for Sydney Water's Planning Partnership.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging and complex water and wastewater projects throughout the planning and concept design phase. You will be part of a partnership environment, working directly with our partners and clients as an integrated team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mentoring and support for other engineers working within the Sydney Water concept design team.
  • Assist in building opportunities to allow growth of the mechanical engineering discipline in the water sector.
  • Set and meet agreed budgets and deadlines, and be accountable for managing the financial performance of specified areas.
  • Develop and implement longer-term strategic plans that will benefit the business.
  • Recruit, appraise, and develop staff/team within their own discipline as required.
Requirements
  • Chartered engineer with experience delivering concept and detailed designs across the water sector within a consulting business environment.
  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or a similar area.
  • Proven ability to uphold high standards in work, meticulously reviewing all aspects to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • M4 competency status within Sydney Water's Competency Requirements, with the ability to take on a verifier role. M3 status may also be accepted.
