Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainee

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainee to join our multidisciplinary Aged Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment and management of Aged Care patients in the Acute Geriatric Service, Geriatric Rehabilitation/GEM, subacute and surgical patients in perioperative care.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic healthcare environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive assessment and management of Aged Care patients in various settings.
  • Development of medical plans for all patients in the Acute Geriatric and Rehabilitation Service.
  • Participation in family conferences as required.
  • Rotating roster participation, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Clinical Experience:
  • A minimum of four postgraduate years of experience.
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate category.
  • Demonstrated commitment to subspecialty training in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Sufficient clinical experience in patient flow and activity-based funding.
