Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Translational Immunology Team as a Research Assistant/Officer. This role offers a unique opportunity for learning and growth in a dynamic environment.

This varied position allows you to build upon your lab experience while developing data analysis and scientific writing skills through experimental design, data collection, and analysis for ongoing projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and conducting research data collection
  • Maintaining and recording research data accurately
  • Processing and handling human blood according to regulations
  • Purifying immune cells or working with prepared immune cells
  • Planning, designing, and executing laboratory assays, including flow cytometry-based assays and cell culture
  • Analysis of research data
  • Integration of flow cytometry data with clinical data
  • Preparation of scientific reports, figures for publications or conference presentations, and correspondence

About the Role

To succeed in this position, you will have demonstrated experience in:

  • PhD or Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomedical disciplines or related fields (e.g., Immunology, Microbiology)
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar work environment with research methodologies knowledge
  • Experience handling primary immune cells and/or human cell lines
  • Demonstrated expertise with flow cytometry
  • Proficiency working with human samples and clinical data
  • Organisation and time management skills with ability to prioritise workloads
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical program (R, SPSS, or JMP is highly desirable but not essential)
