Job Title: Principal Research and Policy Officer

The Sexual Violence Review Board has established a newly created role of Principal Research and Policy Officer. This position plays a crucial part in supporting the secretariat functions, working closely with the Manager, Sexual Violence Review Board.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, as well as individuals with lived experience as victims of crime, to help the board research and identify systemic issues related to the reporting, investigation, and prosecution of sexual offenses in Queensland and other jurisdictions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and policy analysis into systemic trends and patterns in the investigation, reporting, and prosecution of sexual offenses in Queensland and other jurisdictions.
  • Work with the Manager, Sexual Violence Review Board to maintain governance processes involved in Board operations and secretariat responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with a small team to support the Board's functions, including reviewing government policies, practices, procedures, and systems to identify systemic issues, analyzing data and information held by government entities and non-government entities, making recommendations to the Minister, government entities, and non-government entities about improvements to government policy, practices, procedures, and systems, and monitoring the implementation of recommendations.
