Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to join our team at RAAF Williams defence base in Laverton, Melbourne.

As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing the back of house operations and personnel involved in food service production, including routine meals, in-flight rations, and Mess functions.

Your previous hospitality experience, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 6 chefs and a kitchen hand
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment
  • Manage corporate functions and events
  • Ensure cost and budget management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be flexible and assist the team as needed

Requirements:

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate III or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a large commercial kitchen
  • Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to think on feet and act quickly
